Description :
The M6 periscope was a standard optical sighting device mounted in hatches and turrets of U.S. armored vehicles to provide vision while remaining protected inside the tank. It could be quickly attached by inserting it into a bracket and tightening the knurled knob; if the glass became damaged during combat, the lenses could be swiftly replaced via side knobs. Manufacturers included the Minneapolis–Honeywell Regulator Company and others. It was widely deployed in late-model Sherman tanks—each carried up to 12 M6 periscopes.
