Dan Bergsma was a distinguished glass artist from the Seattle area, celebrated for his innovative and diverse creations in handblown glass. Born into a family of artists, Bergsma began his glass studies in 1984 at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington, and at the Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. He had the opportunity to study under internationally acclaimed artists such as Richard Marquis, Dante Marioni, Michael Glancy, and the Italian master Lino Tagliapietra.​

Throughout his career, Bergsma's art gained international recognition, with his pieces displayed in various collections worldwide.
